Jessica knew what she wanted to be from a very young age. Her earliest memories are of staring out her window, wistfully wondering about what currents would enact change upon the fleet's journey. Ever since her father, one of the Horn O' Plenty's navigators, explained to her how wind currents effect their journey, she was enthralled. The idea that the abstract pieces of paper known as maps could be used to determine location and aid in steering the ship fascinated her. When it came time to choose her apprenticeship, her father had barely finished asking the question when she requested to apprentice under the eldest navigator on the Horn O' Plenty.
Ten years later, Jessica took over her master's duties as the navigator on the Horn O' Plenty's afternoon shift, a position she has held since. Currently, she is married to a repairman named Jason. She has given birth to no children. She is currently training up her apprentice, Rosie, who is expected to finish up in roughly eight years. Jessica doesn't expect Rosie to replace her on the navigation rotation once her apprenticeship is finished- Rosie is being trained up as a replacement for a navigator who lost his life on a pirate raid two years ago.
